Russ Grossman August lesson schedule

posted Aug 2, 2012, 7:36 AM by Cristine Grey

Hi friends,

Well it is a hot summer afternoon and many folks ask me “Russ how do you ride in this heat?” My reply is, “I save my silly young horses for the heat of the afternoo (haha hehe) the summer heat along with a few hills knocks the sillys out of them. After each ride I shower the horse then spray my self down and saddle up the next one.”

My training program and lessons are not all about me though they are actually all about you… you and your horse… & how I may assist you in accomplishing your riding objectives. So when attending one of my classes or clinics please have some training goals in mind. Some examples might be: Better brakes, better acceleration, more responsive to the leg, not afraid of stuff, better seat, ability to lope/canter, collection, work a gate, swing a rope, drag a log etc. Even though the lessons are in a group format with a general agenda, my intention is to help each individual. And with that said here is the schedule for August.

August Lesson Schedule

Saturday Aug 4              arena work

Wednesday Aug 8         trail – ride out from Cool Hills Ranch

Saturday Aug 11            arena work

Wednesday Aug 15        trail – meet at Cronin Pedro Hill

Saturday August 18       arena work

Wednesday August 22   trail – meet at Magnolia

Saturday August 25       arena work

Wednesday August 29   trail – meet at Margretta’s on Sliger Mine Road

Lesson times are Saturday mornings 9-11 & Wednesday evening 6-8

Please arrive on time so as not to hold up the class.

Investment: $40/ $10 arena fee

Private lessons are available by appointment

The barn at Cool Hills Ranch is full and there is a waiting list, so I am now accepting training reservations for fall: Colt Starting, Foundation Work, Trail Training

Fall Horsemanship Clinic – October 14 & 15 Improve your skills on the ground, in the saddle & out on the trail. $150

I am sorry to say that we are canceling the Gaited Horse Versatility clinic scheduled for Oct 22.  We just didn't have enough people to commit.  Maybe we can try again next spring.

The Winter Warm-Up Open Horse Show for youth and adults is a fund raising show for two of your fellow 4-H horse project members, Sarah and Melinda. Both qualified to compete at the 2012 National 4-H Horse Classic competition in Denver, Colorado. Due to the expense of travel and the competition itself, they need help raising money so they came up with this horse show as a fun way to do it.    Please come and show your support!
